GRANT TOWNSHIP — A 73-year-old woman from the Comstock Park area who had been missing for about 20 hours was found “conscious and alert” by law enforcement, said Michigan State Police Sgt. Dan Thomas of the Hart post.

The Michigan State Police Aviation Unit found her Dodge Grand Caravan in the area of Webster Road and 92nd Avenue near Rothbury Monday, March 23, around 2:15 p.m., Thomas said. Bronwyn Brooke Zickus was not in her vehicle, but a ground crew found her nearby in the woods shortly after locating the vehicle, Thomas said.

Zickus was being treated at the scene and will be taken to an area hospital.

MSP was asking the public’s assistance with locating Zickus, who was last heard from at approximately 5:45 p.m. Sunday, March 22. When she called the Oceana County Central Dispatch center, she told the dispatcher that she was lost.

“She is being treated for dehydration and hypothermia. She is conscious and alert and is being taken to Mercy Hospital in Muskegon for further care,” said Spl./Lt. David Cope, MSP public information officer.

No other information was immediately available.
