HART — Kade Swenor plays harmonica in a bluegrass band, but that’s just the beginning of his artistic talent. He enjoys using found materials such as metal, rock, glass, and porcelain to create handmade knives and arrowheads. “My goal is to teach. Anyone can [be an artist], and there is no wrong way to create.” Learn more about Kade’s artwork and handmade tools at facebook.com/Made-by-Kade-102661624596657.

“Maker” the word according to Merriam-Webster means, “one who makes” and according to Urban Dictionary, “those who love to create things in their spare time.”

Mason County Press and Oceana County Press are looking around the local areas to find those who consider themselves Makers. Whether they make things for a living or as a hobby, we will uncover many who have a passion for creating things with their hands and sharing those items with the world.
