Car rolls 6 times in US 31 crash.
SHELBY TOWNSHIP – A 31-year-old Muskegon woman was transported by Life EMS to Mercy Health Partners Hackley Campus in Muskegon following a single-vehicle rollover crash on northbound US 31 near Buchanan Road shortly after 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report.
A 32-year-old Grand Rapids man, who was a passenger in the 2007 Honda Civic, was also transported to Hackley, the report states.
“The passenger … advised the driver was passing another vehicle when she ran off the roadway to the left,” states the narrative of the report. “The passenger advised the driver overcorrected and ran off the roadway to the right. The passenger advised as the vehicle left the roadway, it began to roll over numerous times. Investigation showed the vehicle had overturned six times before coming to rest.”
The car’s contents were “strewn over a long distance” following the crash, the report stated.
Both the driver and the passenger were wearing seat belts, according to the report. Alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash.
