WALKERVILLE – A red miniature Pinscher valued at $2,500 was stolen from a vehicle while parked at the Walkerville Family Dollar store, located at 351 E. Main St., Saturday afternoon, and police are seeking help to find the dog.

The dog – named Baby Binky – was stolen shortly after 3:30 p.m., said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

“An Oceana County deputy responded and spoke with the victim and witnesses,” Mast said. “They tell us that while the victim was parked there, a newer-looking black four-door pickup truck occupied by two men pulled up, and one of the men got out and reached in the victim’s vehicle.”

The man grabbed the dog; got in the truck; and they drove away. The vehicle was last seen heading northbound on 176th Avenue.

“This is a valuable young dog, reportedly worth $2,500,” Mast said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office at ‪(231) 873-2121‬.
