PENTWATER TOWNSHIP – Two counterfeit $100 bills were passed at the Boathouse Bar & Grille on Monroe Road some time between 6 and 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, according to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

It was the same type of fake bills that were circulating around locally approximately three years ago. The bills say, “For Motion Picture Purposes Only,” Mast said.

“The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office asks that everyone who accepts money as payment to inspect those bills to try to prevent something like this from occurring,” Mast said. “If you do come across a bill that is not legal, please call 911, and a deputy or officer will investigate it.”
