US 31 off-ramp to Shelby Road re-opens.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP – The southbound US 31 off-ramp at Shelby Road is now open, according to the Michigan Department of Transportion.

The ramp closure was part of the road construction project on US 31 from M 20 to north of Shelby Road that began Tuesday, July 9.

The ramp at exit 144 re-opened Thursday afternoon, July 11, according to MDOT.

The northbound on-ramp at Shelby Road is scheduled to be closed for a week starting Monday, July 15.

The $1.8 million project includes resurfacing approximately four miles of the highway.

Mainline milling and paving will take place starting the week of July 22. Mainline work will consist of intermittent single lane closures on both directions of US 31 between M 20 and Shelby Road.

Additional ramp closures will take place after the mainline work, and updates will be provided as the dates draw near.
