Shelby Road off-ramp on US 31 closes tomorrow.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP – The southbound off-ramp to Shelby Road, which is exit 144, will close for road work beginning at 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, and is slated to remain closed through 5 p.m. Sunday, July 14, as part of a Michigan Department of Transportation construction project.

The northbound on-ramp at Shelby Road will be closed for a week starting Monday, July 15.

The $1.8 million project includes resurfacing approximately four miles of the highway. The project area spans from M 20 to north of Shelby Road.

Mainline milling and paving will take place starting the week of July 22. Mainline work will consist of intermittent single lane closures on both directions of US 31 between M 20 and Shelby Road.

Additional ramp closures will take place after the mainline work, and updates will be provided as the dates draw near.
