Man absconds from probation by leaving the state, gets sentenced more than two decades later.

HART – A 39-year-old Shelby man was sentenced in 27th Circuit Court, June 17, after absconding from probation over 20 years ago.

Jason Allen Yerbey, of 117 Pine St., was found guilty of probation violation and sentenced to seven months in jail with credit for 52 days served and $60 restitution.

Yerbey absconded from probation shortly after being sentenced in 1997, according to Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon. He was placed on absconded status in 1998 after leaving the state.

Probation, which stems from a Nov. 10, 1997 conviction of second-degree home invasion, was revoked.

Other recent sentencings in 27th Circuit Court include:

– Olivia Rose Parsons, 24, of 5578 E. Skeels Rd., Holton, was found guilty May 6 of methamphetamine possession and was sentenced

June 17 to 90 days in jail with credit for 57 days served; 18 months probation; driver’s license suspended 180 days/restricted after 30 days; and $458 in fines and costs

– Michael Ray Hale, 32, of 105 Woodlawn Ave., Hart, was found guilty of probation violation and sentenced June 17 to 15 days in jail; one year

probation; and $398 in fines and costs. Probation stems from a Nov. 15, 2018 conviction of fleeing and eluding.
