Historical and Genealogical Society accepting photographs.

HART — The Oceana County Historical and Genealogical Society is accepting photographs — digital or print — of any deceased relative of a past or present Oceana County resident. Prints can be converted to digital by the historical society so they can be returned to the owner.

Submissions will become part of the society’s historical photo archive, so that future generations may know what their ancestors looked like.

The society accepts any good quality image related to Oceana County. Submissions must include the name of person/people in the photo. Dates and ages are always appreciated, but the lack of that information does not exclude them from the collection.

Images may be delivered in one of three ways:

  1. Delivery to the society on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by dropping them in the society’s mailslot after hours (be sure to note if you want it returned). The society is located at 114 Dryden Street, across from the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office.
  2. Private message the society through its Facebook page (images cannot be posted directly on the page) at . Or
  3. Email them to B4ThePast@Charter.net (please include “Society Photo” in the regarding line).
