HART – The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

Michael Lavern Briggs, 60, of 2723 Duck Lake Rd., Whitehall, was found guilty May 14 of operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail; outpatient treatment; six months probation; vehicle forfeiture/immobilization; and $665 in fines and costs. Charges of operating with a high blood alcohol content (BAC) and transporting open intoxicants were dismissed. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).

Dakotah Blair Cutter, 22, of 3209 140th Ave., Hart, was found guilty May 14 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); and $1,090 in fines and costs. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed. Conviction reportable to SOS.

Christian Rodriguez, 24, of 115 E. 4th St., Shelby, was found guilty May 13 of operating without insurance and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail and $460 in fines and costs. One count of driving while license suspended (DWLS) was dismissed. Conviction reportable to SOS.

Marc Anthony Buckland, 37, of 147 Bonnie St., Ludington, was found guilty May 13 of disturbing the peace and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail and $460 in fines and costs.

Randy Alan VanDerZanden, 49, of 7403 E. Adams Rd., Walkerville, was found guilty May 13 of disturbing the peace and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail and $475 in fines and costs. One count of harboring misdemeanants was dismissed.

Steven Clifford VanderHoff, 55, of 3407 N. 120th Ave., Hart, was found guilty May 13 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail; AHSE; and $1,140 in fines and costs. Charges of operating while intoxicated and improper license were dismissed. Conviction reportable to SOS.

Herbert Lawton Harper, 86, of 3201 56th Ave., Shelby, was found guilty May 13 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail; AHSE; and $1,090 in fines and costs. One count of operating with a high BAC was dismissed. Conviction reportable to SOS.

Jerry Lee Brown, 54, of 137 W. Wilke Rd., Rothbury, was found guilty May 13 of operating without a license and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail and $310 in fines and costs. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed. Conviction reportable to SOS.

Victor Manuel Garcia, 30, of 39 E. Cedar Rd., Twin Lake, was found guilty May 13 of disorderly person – drunk and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail and $325 in fines and costs. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.

Shawn Ronald Alvesteffer, 24, of 2477 W. Jefferson Rd., Pentwater, was found guilty May 13 of disturbing the peace and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail and $794 in fines, costs and restitution. One count of malicious destruction of a building less than $200 was dismissed.

Rob Roger Smith, 26, of 738 N. 204th Ave., Hesperia, was found guilty May 13 of improper license and was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail and $300 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

Cody David Smith, 23, of 1563 Turner SW, Grand Rapids, was found guilty May 9 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to $170 in fines and costs. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed.

Ricky Lee Smith, 40, of 2709 E. Loop Rd., Hesperia, was found guilty May 9 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to $290 in fines and costs. One count of DWLS was dismissed.

Todd Allen Smith, 46, of 2132 N. 56th Ave., Mears, was found guilty May 9 of DWLS and was sentenced to $475 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

Theodore Dietrich Batzer, 30, of 4600 Udell Hills Dr., Manistee, was found guilty May 2 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to $300 in fines and costs. One count of DWLS was dismissed.

Dismissal

Jennifer Lee Herold, 47, of 3770 N. Maple Island Rd., Hesperia, one count of DWLS was dismissed May 9.
