Shelby community assessment meeting May 15.

SHELBY – The Village of Shelby and the Community Foundation for Oceana County are hosting a community assessment event Wednesday, May 15, from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Shelby High School Cafeteria. Residents are encouraged to participate and share ideas in an effort to create a more vibrant Shelby.

Participants will hear the results of the Shelby Area Community Assessment held Aug. 28, 2018, and sponsored by the Community Foundation for Oceana County.

“We are excited to invite you to a follow-up meeting to talk about the results, what they mean, progress to-date and the role Shelby community members can play in addressing needs and opportunities identified in the report.” said Tammy Carey, executive director of the community foundation.

“Your participation in this community meeting is eagerly encouraged, and we ask you to invite others,” states a press release from the Village of Shelby. “We hope to pack the room with people, ideas, and readiness to help create a more vibrant Shelby.”

The latest information will be posted at www.facebook.com/VillageOfShelby as it becomes available. Residents with questions are asked to call 231-861-4401.
