Extreme fire conditions today.

Extreme fire conditions today.

The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for Oceana County until 8 p.m. Monday, April 22. A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. The combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

The warning calls for southerly winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 p.m. and relative humidity as low as 25% with temperatures in the 70s near 80 degrees. Burn restrictions are in effect.

For details on burn restrictions, visit the Michigan Department of Natural Resources website here or call 866-922-2876.
