NEW ERA – A juvenile boy was taken into custody by the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday, April 17, shortly before 10 p.m. after allegedly wielding a weapon in the 1800 block of West Ray Street, according to Oceana County Sheriff Mast.

“Deputies were able to intervene before any serious injury occurred,” Mast said. The boy was transported to the Ottawa County Juvenile Detention Center. “The juvenile case is proceeding with an emergency hearing today (Thursday, April 18.)”

In a separate incident, Michigan State Police troopers from the Hart post arrested a 43-year-old Holton man for operating while intoxicated Wednesday at 9:45 p.m. at the intersection of Roosevelt Road and 88th Avenue in Grant Township. The man was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
