HHS Drama Club presents ‘SHREK: The Musical.’

#HartPublicSchools

HART – The Hart High School Drama Club is presenting “SHREK: The Musical,” March 8-10, in the Hart Public Schools Auditorium at the middle school.

Show times are Friday, March 8, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, March 9, at 2 p.m.; Saturday, March 9, at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, March 10, at 3 p.m.

Did you Love the 2001 DreamWorks classic, “Shrek?” Then, watch it live, on stage, in “SHREK: The Musical.” Join an ogre with a heart, a talking donkey, a wooden puppet, an angry little lord, and a crew of misfits, as they go on a magical, whirlwind adventure and write their own fairytale ending that will leave you laughing and tapping your toes all evening. Complete with an astonishing collection of musical numbers, this is one production you don’t want to miss.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. They’re available at the door or reserve in advance. Call or stop in the Hart Middle School office or see a drama club member by March 1 to reserve your tickets. Tickets will be held at “will call” and must be picked up and paid for one hour before the show. Any unclaimed “will call” tickets will be released to general admission, promptly 30 minutes before each show.

“One exciting thing that sets this production apart from previous HHS Drama Club productions is that this is the first time in our history that we’ve added a fourth performance,” said Director David Moul. “Last year, we sold out ‘The Little Mermaid,’ which was a record for us. It was so popular that we ended up having to turn some people away at the door. That’s also why we’ve added the advance reservation option for tickets this year – we want everyone to have an opportunity to watch this incredible show, and with the success of last year and SHREK being such an iconic movie, we know it will be a hit.

“It’s very rewarding to see a program that started out so small grow into an outstanding program that puts on productions which rival much larger schools,” Moul said. “So much of that is due to the dedication of (Auditorium Manager) Tom Kirk to providing meaningful experiences for students who participate in drama club. His dedication to the performers and quality craftsmanship is very inspiring to his students.”
