OTTO TOWNSHIP – A Montague Area Public Schools bus transporting 10 students crashed into a car on Wilke Road near 116th Avenue Friday, Jan. 18, shortly after noon. No one was injured.

The bus, driven by a 71-year-old Montague man, was southbound on 116th Avenue when it turned left (east) onto Wilke Road, according to an Oceana County Sheriff”s Office accident report. A 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by a 19-year-old Muskegon man was stopped at the stop sign, and the bus “turned too sharp,” hitting the Eclipse with the driver’s side rear wheel.

It was a half day for Montague students, said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast. Another bus came to pick up the students to complete the route following the crash.
