HART — A 68-year-old Hesperia man was sentenced to three to 30 years in prison in 27th Circuit Court Monday, June 11, for convictions of delivery/manufacture of methamphetamine, operating/maintaining a drug house, felony firearms and second-offense habitual offender.

Michael Lynn Hampton, of 2684 E. Garfield Rd., was arrested by the State, Sheriff’s, Chiefs, Enforcement of Narcotics Team (SSCENT).

One count of operating/maintaining a meth lab was dismissed when he pleaded guilty to the other charges.

Hampton’s attorney, Julie Springstead Waltz, said her client has a long history of substance abuse. “Drugs have gotten him to where he is today,” she said.

“I’ve been doing drugs almost my entire life,” Hampton told Judge Bradley G. Lambrix.

He received credit for 137 days served in jail.
