Niles man arrested on several charges following US 31 crash.

GRANT TOWNSHIP — A 36-year-old Niles, Michigan man was arrested for third-offense operating while intoxicated, possession of firearms while under the influence and failure to a report an accident after he crashed the vehicle he was driving Saturday, May 12, at 4 p.m. on southbound US 31 near Winston Road, said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.
The man, who allegedly fell asleep behind the wheel, was not injured in the crash, Mast said.

– 7 p.m., (Oceana County Sheriff’s Office), larceny of two marine batteries valued at $120 each, Leisure Haven Campground, M 20, Ferry Township.
– 11:55 p.m., (OCSO), marijuana production, 3600 block of North 166th Avenue, Leavitt Township. The State, Sheriffs’, Chiefs’ Enforcement of Narcotics Team (SSCENT) is assisting on the case, which is under investigation.
Sunday, May 13, 2018:
– 2:22 p.m., (OCSO), breaking and entering, North Railroad Avenue, Golden Township. A metal door and deadbolt were damaged, as well as a metal security cable.
– 2 p.m., (OCSO), a 57-year-old Mears man was arrested for resisting/assaulting/obstructing police and domestic violence, West Tyler Road, Hart Township.
– 4:15 p.m., (Michigan State Police), an 84-year-old Livonia man and a 49-year-old Ludington man were involved in two-vehicle crash causing injury, West Stony Lake Road near US 31, Claybanks Township. No further information was immediately available.
– 8:03 p.m., (OCSO), breaking and entering, 3800 block of South 164th Avenue, Ferry Township. Window screens were pulled down in an abandoned home, and nothing was stolen.
10:16 p.m., (MSP), a 34-year-old Walkerville man was arrested on a fugitive warrant, 5000 block of 56th Avenue, Calybanks Township.
Monday, May 14, 2018:
– 12:40 a.m., (OCSO), a 39-year-old Hart man was arrested for aggravated assault, 2000 block of East Madison Road, Crystal Township.
