Great Lakes Energy line worker crews continue restoration efforts Sunday, April 15, after heavy snow, ice and wind knocked out power to members in 22 of the cooperative’s 26 counties. Since late Friday night, crews have restored power to 15,368 members.

As of 10 a.m. on Sunday 1,656 members in 17 counties were without power. GLE line worker crews assisted by outside contractor crews continue to battle the elements as they work to restore power. The heavy spring snow has caused trees to sag or fall on lines impacting efforts.

Of the 17 counties with GLE members currently without power, the largest outages are in parts of Antrim, Charlevoix and Newaygo counties.

Great Lakes Energy members are reminded to stay away from downed power lines and also stay clear of trees and limbs hanging on the lines. Current outage information by counties and zip codes is updated every 15 minutes on the Great Lakes Energy website, www.gtlakes.com, by visiting Storm Central.

Great Lakes Energy members can report their power outage by calling 888-485-2537 or by logging into their online account.
