New taxi company provides service to Oceana, Mason counties.

HART — Derek Routley believes in keeping a high standard of customer service and making sure his customers not only feel safe but are safe when one of his taxis serves them.

In February, Derek launched Routley’s Transit and Transportation. Based in Hart, the company serves Oceana and Mason counties. Derek grew up in both counties and has been driving taxis locally for a few years, which has given him a familiarity with the geography of the area.

“I wanted to create a business that provided good customer service, with safe and courteous drivers,” Derek says. “We currently have four vans in the fleet. They are all the same type of vehicle and they are not personal vehicles.”

Derek says he knows the value of hard work and knows that transportation can be a hurdle that prevents people from getting to work.

“There are a lot of people every year who lose their jobs because they don’t have transportation to work,” he says. For this reason, he offers a special work rate. He also offers special rates to transport customers to Grand Rapids and Muskegon.

To make the ride easier, Derek’s cabs have mobile hot spots in them. He also accepts all major credit cards. He will also book riders through his Facebook page as well, but people can always call too: 231-301-8484.
