HART — A 52-year-old Montague man with nine previous felony convictions and 15 misdemeanors was sentenced to six months in jail this week in 27th Circuit Court for a felony conviction of marijuana delivery/manufacture.

Jasen Lee Tyler, of 8518 Robinhood Dr., was also ordered to two years probation and $398 in fines and costs. Judge Robert D. Springstead noted Tyler’s nine felonies and 15 misdemeanors during his sentencing. The judge also ordered a one-year driver’s license suspension with the possibility of a restricted license after 60 days.

Tyler’s conviction was the result of growing medical marijuana in excess of the amount allowed by law, said Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon.

Tyler was sentenced to three previous prison terms in Muskegon County, including a three to 10 year term in 1990 for a breaking and entering conviction; two to five years in 1986 for breaking and entering; and two to five years in 1986 for larceny, according to the Offender Tracking Information System (OTIS).

Most of his other convictions occurred out of state, Bizon said.

Tyler received credit for three days served in jail.

The following were also sentenced recently in 27th Circuit Court:

– Justin Scott Theodore, 19, of 3527 W. Webster Rd., Montague,

pleaded “no contest” Jan. 29 to assault with intent to commit second-degree criminal sexual conduct (CSC) and was sentenced April 9 to 23 months to five years in prison with credit for 112 days served in jail and $198 in fines and costs. Theodore is subject to mandatory lifetime electronic monitoring and sex offender registration. One count of second-degree CSC – victim under 13 was dismissed. In a separate file, he was found guilty April 9 of probation violation and was sentenced to 169 days in jail with credit for 169 days served and $400 in fines and costs. His Holmes Youthful Trainee Act (HYTA) probation stems from a Jan. 18, 2017 conviction of second-degree home invasion, and his HYTA was revoked.

– Erick Scott Baker, 28, of 146 Knapp NE, Grand Rapids, was found

guilty April 9 of probation violation and sentenced to 18 months to five years in prison with credit for 201 days served and $750 in fines and costs. Baker’s probation stems from a July 12, 2016 conviction of third-offense operating while intoxicated.

– Cody Morgan Denton, 23, of 2630 N. Sherman Rd., Ludington, was found guilty Jan. 29 of heroin possession less than 25 grams and was sentenced April 9 to nine months in jail with credit

for 189 days served; driver’s license suspended one year/restricted after 60 days; and $398 in fines and costs. “No probation is being ordered because defendant is on probation in Mason County,” his court file states.

– Corde Austin Turner, 29, of 1077 Jefferson, Muskegon, was found guilty Jan. 29 of malicious destruction of fire/police property and was sentenced April 9 to 168 days in jail with credit for 168 days served;

In a separate file, Duvall was found guilty March 26 of probation violation and sentenced April 9 to 14 days in jail and $198 in fines and costs. His probation, which stems from a July 31, 2017 conviction of tampering with an electronic monitoring device (tether), was revoked. In a third file, Duvall was was found guilty March 26 of probation violation and was sentenced April 9 to 14 days in jail; $925.14 in restitution; and $400 in fines and costs. Duvall was ordered to successfully complete the Michigan Department of Corrections Westside Residential Alternative Prison (WRAP) program, including all after-care as needed. His probation cases run consecutively.

– Markie Marie Castillo, 27, of 5497 E. Deer Rd., Walkerville, was found guilty April 9 of probation violation and was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for one day served and $400 in fines and costs. Probation, which stems from an Oct. 24, 2016 conviction of false report of a felony, was revoked.
