Mears man arrested for domestic assault, burning belongings, resisting arrest on Valentine’s Day.

GOLDEN TOWNSHIP — A 55-year-old Mears man was not feeling the love on Valentine’s Day when he was arrested by Michigan State Police troopers from the Hart post for domestic assault, burning personal belongings and assaulting/resisting/obstructing police on Juniper Beach Road at 2:15 a.m., according to Sgt. Rich Capling.

The suspect was lodged in the Oceana County Jail.

In an unrelated incident, the state police arrested an 18-year-old Shelby man Tuesday, Feb. 13, at 2:25 p.m. on Mears Road in Golden Township on charges of marijuana possession, assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and probation violation, according to Capling. He was also lodged in the Oceana County Jail.
