Rothbury man allegedly attempts to strangle father.

GRANT TOWNSHIP — A 25-year-old Rothbury man was arrested by Oceana County sheriff’s deputies shortly after midnight Monday, Jan. 8, after assaulting both his father and his father’s girlfriend and attempting to strangle his father, according to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.
Shane Schuiteman, of 2235 W. Cleveland Rd., is lodged in the Oceana County Jail on a $50,000/cash/surety bond on a charge of felonious domestic assault involving strangulation, Mast said.
Deputies were called to Schuiteman’s home for a domestic disturbance, and upon arrival discovered that he had assaulted his 56-year-old father and his father’s 60-year-old girlfriend and attempted to strangle his dad, the sheriff said. Both victims suffered minor injuries.
Schuiteman, who was arrested without incident, has been arraigned in 78th District Court.
