HART — The Hart post of the Michigan State Police is pleased to announce that troopers will conduct an event to benefit the less fortunate in the Hart post area. The theme for this event is “STUFF A BLUE GOOSE FOR CHRISTMAS.”

“We have long referred to our patrol cars as a ‘Blue Goose,’ and we hope to stuff them full of new toys and non-perishable food items,” states an MSP press release. “We are planning to have an MSP patrol car situated at the Walmart store in Ludington. We will also have troopers at this location accepting the donations. The date and time for the event is Friday, Dec. 15, 2017, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

“Our goal is to collect as many new toys and food items as possible in this five-hour period. All of the donated items collected will be turned over to the Salvation Army for distribution to the families in need.”

The Hart post covers a four-county area including Oceana, Mason, Lake and Newaygo counties.
