Pedestrian hurt after being hit by truck.

NEWFIELD TOWNSHIP — A 48-year-old Hesperia woman received minor injuries Monday evening, Nov. 6, after being hit by a pickup truck while walking on East Hawley Road near Riverside Drive in the Hesperia area, according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report.
The woman, who was walking against traffic on the south side of the road, was struck by a 2012 Dodge Ram truck driven by a 60-year-old Hesperia man, the report states.
The woman was treated at the scene by paramedics from Oceana County EMS, but was not hospitalized, according to the report.
The crash occurred at dusk at approximately 5:30 p.m. when the man was passing two other vehicles. He hit the woman while in the opposite lane, the report states.
The report indicates that the man’s hazardous action of improper passing caused the crash.
According to 911 caller information relayed to Central Dispatch, the woman suffered an injured shoulder.
