GOLDEN TOWNSHIP — A 14-year-old Huber Heights, Ohio boy sustained a large cut to his hand after crashing the 2003 Wahoo moped he was riding Saturday, Aug. 12, at 3:30 p.m. on Whipperwill Lane east of North Ridge Road, according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report.

“The driver lost control of the vehicle due to the excessive amount of loose gravel in the road,” the report said.

“The vehicle tipped over on its side, and the driver fell from the vehicle,” the report states. “When he hit the ground, he used his hands to break his fall and sustained a large cut on his right hand requiring stitches.”

The accident was reported to police by emergency room staff at Mercy Health Lakeshore Campus in Shelby, the report stated.
