HART — A 16-year-old boy from rural Hart who was reported missing last week has been found safe in San Antonio, Texas, where he is with family, said Oceana County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Craig Mast.

The sheriff’s office was searching for Jason Miramontes last week after his family had reported him missing. Police issued a press release last Thursday, May 26. Shortly after area media alerted the public, the sheriff’s office received a call from a Muskegon cab driver who stated he saw the story on the news and told police he picked up a boy matching that description and by the name of Miramontes. The cab driver told police he took Miramontes to the Greyhound Station in Muskegon.

Miramontes has since been located in San Antonio, Texas. “He is there with family,” said Mast.

The teen was last seen by local family members at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, at their home on East Filmore Road.

His family was very worried, because he had never “behaved in this fashion previously,” Mast said.
