HART — A 29-year-old Hart woman was ordered to serve 30 days up front of a three-month discretionary jail term Monday, May 23, in 27th Circuit Court for embezzling from Shopko Hometown store.

Kimberly Ann Nicosia, of 710 E. Main St., pleaded guilty last April to embezzling $1,000-$20,000.

Nicosia was also ordered to pay $1,590 in restitution and must serve one year probation. She received credit for one day served in jail.

Nicosia, who worked as a customer service associate, testified in April that she embezzled the money by making “fake returns.”

“My client is very regretful of her actions that brought her here today,” said her attorney, Julie Springstead Waltz.

“I’m just really sorry, and I will never be here again,” Nicosia said to Judge Anthony A. Monton.
