Run water notice issued

February 20, 2015

HART — Due to extremely cold weather causing a high rate of water service freeze-ups, the City of Hart is requesting that ALL customers continuously run their water until further notice.

The city made the announcement Friday, Feb. 20

Customers should run a stream of cold water the diameter of a thin pencil in one faucet 24 hours per day. All utility customers will receive an adjusted bill based on their average water usage. Customers will not be billed for the additional water usage.

Customers should remember to run their water continuously even though the outside temperature may rise above freezing as the frost will remain in the ground until spring and could cause water services to freeze if the flow of water is turned off. A follow-up notification will be provided when City of Hart utility customers can stop running their water.

If you have any questions, please call Hart City Hall at 873-2488.
