OTTO TWP. — A 60-year-old Shelby woman who was pinned inside a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer following a rollover crash Friday. Jan. 30, at about 5 p.m. on 116th Avenue, south of McKinley Road, was transported to a Muskegon hospital, police at the scene stated.

The woman, who appeared conscious and alert, suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash, said Deputy Mark Hiddema of the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office. She was the only person in the vehicle, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The woman was headed north on the extremely icy road and lost control of the vehicle, which struck a small tree and rolled onto its side. She had to be extricated from the vehicle by emergency crews. The woman was wearing her seatbelt, and the airbag deployed, Hiddema said. No citations were issued.

In addition to OCSO, Oceana EMS, Grant Township Fire Department, Blue Lake Township Fire Department and DNR officers responded to the scene. The road was closed for approximately an hour in the vicinity of the crash.
