OCMCF looking to expand, seeking input

October 1, 2014

HART — Residents will have an opportunity to provide input Thursday afternoon regarding an $11.2 million expansion and renovation project planned at the Oceana County Medical Care Facility, at 701 E. Main St.

Officials at the nursing home, rehabilitation and dementia care center are planning to replace 16 beds and make major improvements to meet the growing demand for nursing care in the county.

The Alliance for Health is hosting a public hearing about the project from 2-3 p.m. at the Hart City Hall Community Center. The agency’s evaluation board will use the community’s input for the facility’s Certificate of Need application. If the project is approved by the state, construction could begin as early as this winter.

The Alliance for Health requests that citizens who attend the hearing provide a written copy of their statements. Those unable to attend the meeting may submit written comments by this Friday to jburkett@afh.org or 1345 Monroe Ave. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49505.
