Shelby planning summer festival

SHELBY — A new summer event is being planned in the village, and officials are finalizing the details.

The Shelby Summer Street Festival is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Village officials are planning to have a classic car show, local food vendors, children’s activities and music. The band has not yet been determined, but Village Administrator Aaron Desentz said during Monday night’s village council meeting that local groups Rocket Fuel Haulers or the Electric Wombats may perform.

“Banners will be popping up around the village soon,” Desentz said.
