Neighborhood bloggers, citizen journalists wanted

March 8, 2014

Oceana County Press is looking for neighborhood bloggers and citizen journalists and photographers. We want people who enjoy writing about what’s going on in their neck of the woods.

At this time, these are not paid positions. We are hoping to have people join us who are willing to invest their time into this service and allow us to build up our advertising so we can eventually provide a stipend for our contributors. We want this to be your news site but we need your help to help us grow!

Bloggers would be people who may want to contribute a weekly first person account of their observations, similar to a newspaper column. While we are calling this a neighborhood blog, topics do not necessarily have to be limited to geography.

Citizen journalists/photographers would submit to us breaking news tips and photographs. Ideally, we would love to have some correspondents who could attend and report on local government meetings and/or write about other events in various places around the county.

If this is something that interests you, please contact Editor Allison Scarbrough at editor@oceanacountypress.com.
